Miami Commissioners Vote On New Voting Map Settlement

Miami Commissioners voting to allow the city manager to enter into a new voting map settlement agreement after a federal judge tossed the old one for being racially gerrymandered. Commissioner Manolo Reyes says he will vote for the settlement but thinks this map will lead to more Hispanics on the dais. The new map will become effective seven days after the settlement gets the green light in court. Commissioners currently serving will retain their office through the end of their term regardless of the redrawn boundaries.
